Description

The Dolphin Room, named after the esteemed dolphin scientist Dr. John C. Lilly, captures the spirit of these remarkable creatures with a collection of his books and dolphin-inspired art. Drift into the mythical realms of cetaceans with Andrew Annenberg’s famous underwater painting, “Guardians of the grail,” and let the happiness in the dolphin’s smile ignite your own.

The ethereal en-suite bathroom, designed by a renowned Venetian plaster artist, features a hand-carved sandstone dolphin holding a glass vessel, adorned intricately with shells and hand-painted. The California artist-made mirror and rain shower, with changing lights, create a tranquil ambience while offering a relaxing massage experience. The uniquely designed bamboo bed is perfect for singles or couples, adding a special touch to the room’s charm. But what truly sets us apart is our enchanting, unique natural habitat.

The room boasts sliding glass doors on both sides, leading to a captivating view of a Brazilian pepper tree and the inviting ocean beyond. Take a leisurely stroll around the pond or venture into the garden for a delightful lunch or a visit to our yoga and meditation temples. The Dolphin Room is an inspiring space to journey within.

Moreover, it’s an ideal spot for remote work, equipped with a comfortable desk, high-speed fiber-optic internet, and amenities like a coffee machine in the kitchen. Access to all of Opua House is included, providing a large kitchen, comfortable living room, expansive outdoor tables, and a beautiful sunroom where you can feel connected to nature while being protected.

Make your stay memorable at Opua House’s Dolphin Room, where nature’s wonder and comfort seamlessly blend for an unforgettable experience.

“In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true is true or becomes true” – Dr. John C. Lilly.

Reviews

This is an absolutely incredible property – make no mistake. It is every bit as gorgeous as they say it is. Very quiet and secluded little area in a rural part of Maui. If you are really looking for an escape getaway then this is it. There is access to sandy beaches a short drive away but the property is located really right near the water’s edge. You simply need to take a short hike down and you can be located at the water’s edge and it is very quiet and secluded in a lovely place to have a picnic or to just sit and contemplate life. I really like the fact that they do regular yoga here and offer access to this. After having stayed here, I very much intend to return the next time I am on Maui.

Stop thinking about if you want to stay here. Do it. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. If you are looking for a beautifully decorated, zen place that welcomes you in the best spirits, look no further. Unless you mind magical sunrises of course 🙂

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful space! My husband and I enjoyed our time here thoroughly! We loved the Dolphin Room with two open windows bringing in the sun, ocean breeze and tropical scents! We loved the hike down to the ocean and to the waterfall! The yoga class and meditation room/ music room were so peaceful! Truly relaxing stay! We will miss staying here and look forward to returning!
